Bobinsky introduces Gaye Lyn as “part of our nonsked aviation history project” to Hazy Librarian.

Good morning, Steve.

Nice talking with you yesterday.

Steve, I have browsed through the Hazy Library online. Impressive. The

first question is am I overstepping my bounds by asking for access to

the library as a non-student? Because I would obviously need the

assistance of the librarians to get me oriented and possibly even to

retrieve materials. Does ERAU customarily allow that kind of use?

If so, with your permission, I’d like to email one of the librarians

(perhaps Suzie Roth), briefly explain my project, provide my website

address, and outline the categories and dates that are subject of my

ongoing research. I would be seeking her insight as to whether a day or

two spent at the Hazy might be fruitful – if you have databases that are

uncommon to non-aviation related institutions, or are more complete than

other libraries. Even if, due to time constraints and timing, I don’t

visit the library on this trip, Prescott is not that far from Santa Fe

and gives me a grand excuse to hit the road again!

I just read this …

Computer and Database Use

Computers are available for ERAU scholarly research and educational

purposes only.

Use of computers is restricted to ERAU students, faculty, staff, alumni,

and Prescott campus affiliates.

Licensing agreements with database vendors restricts use to ERAU

student, faculty, or staff.

No matter the library outcome, I would like to see if you and I can

work out a meet-and-greet on this particular journey.

I must learn to write shorter emails! 😛

My best,

Gaye Lyn

Gaye,

Enjoyed chatting with you and I too look forward to meeting you in

person. I will be in Prescott on Friday, June 15, Saturday, June 16

and Sunday, June 17.

We can overcome the computer and database use issue as you are part of

our nonsked aviation history project. Info you are researching can be

added to our aviation history website. When you email Suzie Rothman, (I

know her well) include me in the email To: or CC: line. I will follow

up with your email to reiterate your involvement with the group and the

research. Suzie is familiar with the nonskeds, as we have an artifact

display for the NonSkeds on the 2 nd floor of the library.

With Suzie’s assistance you should also be able to research books, etc,

as it is a public access library connected with many other public

librarys.

I don’t believe we will have any problems.

Chat more with you soon.

Steve
