Subject John Noll’s voice over re: Fiorello LaGuardia
Well, Lady & Gents,
We discussed and couldn’t figure out why NY Mayor LaGuardia would have
been involved in getting Veterans Air the UNRRA contract for relief
flights. In his video narration, John Noll wasn’t sure of LaGuardia’s
role, other than being sure LaGuardia was involved in securing the
contract…and it was why he attended the christening by Jarmila Novotná
of Veterans’ first DC-4 – the one that flew the first couple (several)
UN flights.
Well, I just learned that Fiorello LaGuardia was UNRRA
Director-General!!
I come across info in the most unexpected places. And get diverted en
route!!!
