Visited June again. And Michael’s bench again. Poignant again.
Here, now, six months later, in late May, 2017, I share my photos…taken six months ago in November (thus the wool caps and sweaters) when I first met both June and Michele, Michael Frome’s widow and daughter.1
June was graciously and genuinely happy to see me again…and to meet Harry, my husband. We both loved every minute of June’s vivacious, mischievous, soulful, sacred persona.

Michael and June surely electrified any room they graced together.
June Nilssen Eastvold, a Force – in the most complimentary of terms. 40 years a Lutheran minister (a pioneer ordination that long ago!), published book author, community activist to the 1,000th power. One of her books, The Boys on the Porch, was “based on her years as an activist in Seattle, Washington, while serving as the pastor at University Lutheran Church.”2
I can only imagine the electricity – and love – that permeated any room that June and Michael jointly occupied. Oh! how I would have loved that opportunity.
Dear Reader, these days, you must be serious if you invite me to visit, because, on April 9, I purchased a “magic carpet.” A 24′ RV. Her name is Gracie and we’ll be more than happy to roll up on your driveway and sit a spell! This trip, that Harry and I launched only 13 days after I bought the RV, became a 5-week shake-down “cruise.” Anticipating many long voyages cross-country as part of my Veterans Air research – traveling solo – I was extremely pleased that Gracie made such excellent grades – literally and figuratively [Harry was, too!]
