David, hi.
You are so great to spend so much time on this.
See if any of these three are new possibilities. The 3rd image
(Founder-Pilot Jack Stettner) was sent to me in July 2015 by Al Stettner
(eldest son and a current docent at Air & Space Museum at Hazy). His
Dad couldn’t identify when and where the photo was taken. I cringe at
the FONT and the company name SPELLING. Never saw any other photo with
that livery. Yet, that’s Jack in the photo and he flew both our DC-3s
and DC-4s. I’ve contacted son Al again to see if he can help.
Does Craig Morris really have a Veterans Air Express “timetable?” Or
are you referring to his brochure on this page? Are we using anything
from this page?

I’ll keep digging, David.
So you know, Paul Burton, my website designer, and I are laser-focused on
Publishing my new website before the February availability of the
article. Have a meeting tomorrow a.m. with Paul. Gotta get it done!
Ciao for now,
Gaye

Gaye,
I really have to hand it to you for the work you do! You have REALLY
captured the history of your dad’s airline in about as much depth as
possible. It is not easy to unearth records and photos from a relatively
small outfit that went out of business 76 years ago. You certainly have
created more of a record (legacy) than has been compiled about other
non-skeds of similar size.
Regarding the Jack Stettner photo: the use of and apostrophe after
VETERANS’ matches the same usage on the Craig Morris blotter image
(apostrophe after VETERANS’). Unfortunately, the aircraft says AIRLINES
while the blotter says AIRLINE. Can only “assume” that the blotter was
an item from your Veterans.
Have a Great Weekend,
David
