Subject …and to you…

Hello, Allen.

All continues to grow like topsy here. I need to sleep less! But I am
having an incredible journey and loving it. It has taken a huge amount
of time for me to pull my next Post together – about Veterans in
Sebring. The more I gathered, the more I both wanted to tell and want
to know…as in what prompted such a fast withdrawal? I’ve found
unrelated reference to Veterans associated with Floyd Bennett Field in
Brooklyn in August 1946 as the city was working toward civilian use of
the ex-Navy base. In this case, it was landing rights for international
flights that Veterans was seeking, not operational activity.

Anyway, just wanted to say “hello.” I’ve got quite a lot of
“footnoting” to do on my Post. But I’m hoping to “publish” by Noon
today. Here goes………

Take care,
g.
Gaye

P.S. Quick question. This first article seems to have been published by
THE AMERICAN (so they refer to themselves in the copy). I haven’t found
such a publication yet. Do you recognize the name? Perhaps they were
acquired by a bigger local paper. I’m interested because of their
mention of the DC-4 City of Sebring making a UNRRA flight immediately
after its christening. That’s the first reference of that flight that I
found. Then the second clipping, one week later, makes a similar
reference. I don’t know if it comes from the same paper. Somehow it
doesn’t “feel” the same, but I cannot make any assumptions.
