In Memoriam

Edward F. Martz, Jr. In Memoriam.

I am deeply sad to write this post. Veterans Air has lost a precious member. I have lost a cherished friend. Edward J. Martz, Jr. Veterans Air Express Navigator, died this week. He was 91. I’ll be forever grateful for having met him personally, known his smile, reveled in his stories about his role in my Dad’s airline. God speed, Ed Martz. Say hello to Saunie for me.

Jack Z Stettner dies at 93. Cherished by Founder’s daughter.

It is with profound sadness that I write of the passing of Jack Stettner. This man of adventure helped my Dad found the airline in 1945….as co-founder, investor, pilot, and ops-manager And 70 years later welcomed me with open arms into his home. So did his wonderful family. It was my deep honor to know him. God speed, Jack.

John Schaus passed away 11 July 2019.

John Schaus passed away in July. An honor to know him, a joy to call him friend. I will miss his cheerful phone calls and always-welcomed vivid stories. Come learn about this Veterans Air DC-3 pilot. God-speed, Kind Sir.

Jack Stettner would be 97 today.

Jack Stetter, sporting a bright red shirt and Veterans Air Line cap, and sipping a huge ice cream soda.

Jack Stettner loved life. He was proud of his family, his WWII service, and his role in co-founding Veterans Air. He would have been 97 today. I celebrate his life in a fashion he would approve.
